TIPPING YOUR FISHING GUIDE
If you have a guide who has worked hard to put you on to fish and help you succeed, we suggest a tip of US $100 total per boat, per day. That means that if there are two of you in the same boat, divide the costs. If you are fishing for six days, for example, and sharing a boat, then each of you may want to consider tipping your fishing
guide $300.
Keep in mind that something as special as a grand slam or an exceptionally large fish or a longer-than-average day on the water may deserve a little more. Most people will tip their guide at the end of the trip – after their final day on the water. This is common and totally acceptable.
Please tip your guide directly, and if possible tip with cash.
If you want to leave gear or clothing for your guide (sunglasses, hats, clothing, tools, etc.) then this is also acceptable, but these items should not be given in lieu of
a cash tip.
TIPPING THE LODGE STAFF
While staying at Riversong Lodge, then we suggest a combined staff tip of US $100 - 200 total for the week. (Approximately $20 - 30 per day per person).
This tip can be given at the end of the week to the lodge manager, who will be happy to distribute an equal percentage to the lodge employees accordingly. The tip will be divided evenly and will go to the kitchen staff, housekeepers, grounds keepers, etc.
If there is a particular employee who has done an outstanding job for you or one who has taken especially good care of you, then a direct cash tip given to that employee is totally acceptable.
EXAMPLE #1: DOUBLE-OCCUPANCY ANGLER
Tip Amount for a standard 7 Night / 6 Fishing Day Guide Tip = $300 (6 days of fishing)
Staff Tip = $120 (6 days at the lodge) TOTAL = +/- $420 per client
EXAMPLE #2: SINGLE-OCCUPANCY ANGLER
Tip Amount for a standard 7 Night / 6 Fishing Day Guide Tip = $600 (6 days of fishing)
Staff Tip = $120 (6 days at the lodge) TOTAL = +/- $720 per client
